After 20 years in high tech Milo wanted to try something new. Really new! So after talking Kelly into “this might be a good thing”, they started The Golf Center of Half Moon Bay. At first there were the usual stumbles and mistakes, but it was always fun. After 3 months, two new partners joined up...long time friends Jeff & Bob. |

"How did we decide on a golf store? Blame it on our son Sean and our dog KOKO. She loves the Half Moon Bay beaches and Sean loves the grass hitting area at Ocean View Driving Range. Sean took up golf at age twelve and by age sixteen had become a 2 handicap and the #1 seed on the St. Francis High School golf team. Between the two of them we ended up in Half Moon Bay all the time."
Milo soon realized he knew more about golf than he should and Kelly realized he spent more on golf than he should…so why not just open a store! Careful what you wish for! |

"I have been golfing for 35 years. I took up the game at the age of 14 because there was a local course that would rent power carts to you, even if you weren't old enough to drive and didn’t have a driver’s license!! We never even kept score, but we sure put a lot of miles on those carts, and a few dents J. Although my motivation for playing has changed over the years, I still enjoy it as much as I did back when I was 14. My basic golf philosophy is: “If you’re not smiling when you’re on the course, then you’re not doing it right.”
My main interest in golf these days when I am not playing or working in the store is monitoring my nephew, Scott Anderson's progress towards getting his PGA tour card. He has progressed from a Montana high school golfer to Montana State Amateur Champion, to Ohio State’s golf team captain and Big Ten Champion...and now is attempting his first Q-school qualifier to get his PGA Tour card. "Just like my other partners I too come from the technical business world, working in software sales for the last 8 years. I began to get “hooked-on-golf” about 5 years ago. As it probably was for many of you that have captured the golf bug – it is many things that captivate you about this game. For me it was the history of the game, a great conversation piece – much more exciting than politics, and the hundreds of beautiful venues to play around the world – everything from a links course lining an ocean, 18 holes of green beauty dropped into a desert, or a golf course nestled between trees or a mountain side.
The uniqueness of The Golf Center is that we are a customer centric golf retail store. Our mission is quite simple: We want to provide the most economical and best equipment, apparel, and accessories for any level of golfer. Whether you are a scratch golfer, beginner, or somewhere in between, we can get you what you need to enjoy this wonderful game. There are many wonderful experiences to be enjoyed on the golf course and we want to do our part to enhance those experiences.
